Do you want to learn to play drums and have fun at the same time? Because if this is what you are looking for in a drum teacher, Rick is the right one for you.

My 12 years old son Matteo has been taking drum lessons from Rick for almost three years now and he loves it.

You can tell Rick loves teaching by the enthusiasm he shares with his students. He always welcomes Matteo in his studio with a big smile and Matteo is always happy to learn new skills from him. Thank you Rick for all you have taught Matteo so far and I look forward to more years of Matteo's drumming with you.

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter of recommendation on behalf of Rick Stojak, Drummer / Percussionist / Private Instructor.

I had the privilege of making Rick's acquaintance this past year after seeking a qualified drum instructor to teach me the basics involving music reading, percussion theory and technique. As a self-taught drummer playing shows around San Diego, I needed to reacquaint myself with my instrument in a more traditional format thereby undoing any poor habits I had developed.

Rick is perhaps one of the most dynamic instructors and educators I have ever come across. He is comparable and even exceeds professors I had while attending the University of California, Los Angeles. He has a vibrant approach to life and a true passion for drumming, which is evident during instruction. He creates an environment suitable for all ages and types of drummers, and crafts lessons to challenge all levels in a non-threatening format.

It's amazing how much you learn within a relatively short amount of time. After every session, I leave with such a sense of accomplishment and understanding of the subject matter, I want to get right home and practice what I've learned.

My hourly drum lessons are truly a bright spot in my life where I know I will be challenged, rewarded and sincerely encouraged. My ability to read music and play more complex arrangements testifies to the advances I've made while under his tutelage.

I believe Rick's calling in life is to be a teacher. He accordingly evokes the passion, professionalism and patience needed to be the great educator he is.

Sincerely,

Keely Hedges

To Whom it may Concern:

Three and a half years ago I spent a month at Children's Hospital with my 10 year old son Josh. Nine days of that month Josh was in a coma. When he was recovering in rehab he told me he wanted to take drum lessons. I thought that was a good idea to help with both mental and physical capacities. A musician friend of mine referred us to Rick Stojak as a drum teacher. Josh is now 14 years old and 100% healthy.

I would have to say that studying with Rick has been one the most positive experiences of Josh's life. Not only is Rick extremely knowledgeable and experienced with drum, he is a fantastic teacher.

He incorporates theory with fun and is always positive in dealing with the student. In the three and a half years that Josh has been studying drum with Rick, they have developed a true student/mentor relationship. Josh has grown to trust, respect and truly like Rick. He looks forward to and enjoys every lesson.

So far music and drum has been a big part of Josh's life. Where ever this path leads, Rick will always have had an important place in our lives.

Most Sincerely,
Carol Shamon Freitas

Rick,

This is just a quick note to say thank you for the patient, energetic, and rigorous training you have provided to my son. You always stretch his ability yet in a way that is fun and exciting. You are such a talented musician, the diversity of styles and techniques have really helped Jimmy grow.

Thank you and Happy New Year, John & Melissa Marshall
